Dan Clouser is an award-winning American photographer and lifelong itinerant wanderer whose vision is inspired by the moments when tone and subject conspire to reveal the elegance and grandeur of the apparent world in which we live.
By carefully crafting images that capture the interplay between natural environment and the human psyche, his work transforms the viewer from passive spectator to an imaginative and integral component of the scene. From breathtaking panoramas to highly detailed monochrome images, he moves beyond documenting the environment to conjuring emotion from the dynamic interaction of light, color and texture.
Born in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, he served 30-years in the United States Navy before becoming a full-time photographer. In addition to competition winners, several of his images are published online and in print, and he currently has an image featured in a National Geographic exhibition in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan. He resides in La Mesa, California.
